Things were going well, and soon the founder of the company was able to diversify the production of machine-building equipment, and soon conduct a kind of marketing analysis, releasing several experimental batches of three-wheeled motorcycles, which at that time were perceived by the Japanese as something.

Alas, the demand for motorcycles turned out to be unjustified, but he was an experiment to draw conclusions from the results, and Matsuda made by 1931 the company had designed and produced three-wheeled trucks with an all-metal body and a 500 cc engine. To identify their products, the word “Mazda” was chosen as a trademark – the name of the Zoroastrian supreme god of light, which, moreover, was consonant with the name of the company’s founder, Matsuda.

The demand for trucks grew from year to year: the country developed industry, motorized the army, and all thanks to the financial support of the old Japanese zaibatsu Sumimoto, into which the enterprise fell into orbit.

In 1932, Mazda trucks were exported to China. At the same time, the company was working on the project and even managed to build several concepts for passenger cars, but after the announcement of the beginning of the Second World War, further work on the projects was stopped.

After the war and the atomic disaster on Hiroshima in 1952, Jujiro Matsuda leaves for another world, and a year before that, the former head of the company reassigned leadership to his son Tenuji Matsuda. By 1960, the company was gradually recovering from the post-war shock and, at the same time as the prosperity of ordinary Japanese people grew, it gradually launched the production of full-fledged passenger cars, which became the R360 model – a 2-door city car equipped with a 2-cylinder 356 cc engine.
